Papa Pickin’ Corn

This photo is near and dear to my heart. The man in the picture is my husband’s grandfather, or “Papa” as everyone calls him. He is standing in “The Garden” on his expansive cattle farm in South Alabama. Papa is 88 years old, but he still gets up every morning to tend to the cows and fields. The garden feeds his family and many others in the community year round. On this trip we were taking a look at the Pea Patch and stopped to pick some corn to grill for supper. Papa hopped out of the truck and had 10 ears picked before we caught up to him!
