Fall must be on my mind today, despite the 90 degree temperatures we’ve been experiencing this week in Louisiana. This is another picture I took on our trip to Oregon last fall, and who doesn’t love a little fall foliage? This actually was in a redwood forest in Northern California, at our first stop on the Avenue of the Giants (a 31-mile portion of the Old Hwy 101 that has now been replaced by a parallel freeway). The park is Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and I would recommend checking out a travel guide from your library. We found some pretty awesome trails in this park that were off the beaten path–some just a few steps from the main road!
