Papa Pickin’ Corn

This photo is near and dear to my heart. The man in the picture is my husband’s grandfather, or “Papa” as everyone calls him. He is standing in “The Garden” on his expansive cattle farm in South Alabama. Papa is 88 years old, but he still gets up every morning to tend to the cows…

Gator Hunting

We’re blessed to live in a very lush environment here in Louisiana. My husband and I went out looking for gators one afternoon near a lake on the base, and I snapped this shot of him. I thought it captured the typical Louisiana setting quite well. Don’t tell him I posted a picture of him…

Little Red Bus

One of my favorite planes on display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC. Amelia Earhart owned this plane, and she flew it solo across the Atlantic Ocean and non-stop across the USA. She called it her “Little Red Bus”.

Flag Fold

My husband has volunteered over five months of his time with the base Honor Guard performing funeral honors, retirement ceremonies, and presenting colors at events. This is just one of the many services that active duty airmen provide for the community.

Young Love

These two are my neighbors here on base. They graciously let me take some photos of them in the park next to our houses one afternoon. I didn’t get very many before the sun went down, but I love how this one turned out!

Private Beach

I captured this photo on an excursion to St. John from a cruise this past May. This is currently my desktop background. St. Thomas and St. John were our favorite stops on the cruise, and I can only hope that we’ll get back there to visit very soon!
